Check an object
Start from a common item
Preset sizes are typical retail dimensions for the category, not a specific product. Measure your own item.
Measure the object you want to carry, type the numbers in, and we will compare it with the R2 cargo measurements we have been able to verify. We only use measurements we can cite; where we cannot tell, we say so.
Rivian R2 cargo dimensions
The table below lists every R2 cargo measurement this tool uses, where it came from, and how confident we are in it. Official Rivian figures are marked Verified; owner tape measurements are marked Owner-measured and are approximate. Both feed the calculator, and owner figures will be replaced if Rivian publishes official dimensions.
Width between the wheel wells
For wide flat items such as plywood, crates and mattresses, the narrowest point is usually between the rear wheel wells rather than the overall interior width. Where we have that number it is the one the checker uses for width.
Cargo depth with the seats up or folded
Depth changes a lot depending on whether the second row is folded. The checker tries both configurations when it has measurements for them and tells you which one it relied on.
Can you sleep in the back?
Rivian has described the R2 seats folding flat for sleeping. Whether a particular mattress or two adults fit depends on the folded-flat length and width, so use the checker above with your mattress size.
