What You Need to Know
Brew to full capacity
Moka pots must be filled to their marked level — you can't make half a pot. Buy the size you'll actually use each time.
Aluminum care
Never dishwasher aluminum models — it ruins the finish and affects taste. Rinse with hot water only; the dark patina is normal.
Stainless steel benefits
Works on induction stoves, dishwasher safe, and more durable. Takes slightly longer to heat than aluminum.
Induction adapter option
Already own an aluminum pot? Bialetti's steel adapter plate (~$15–20) lets you use it on induction without buying a new pot.
