Formula and worked example
V = π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × depth ÷ 1728 cu ft per tube (diameter and depth in inches). Total = V × quantity × (1 + waste ÷ 100). Yards = cu ft ÷ 27.
Worked example: one 10" Sonotube, 36" deep, 10% waste → V ≈ 1.64 cu ft; with waste ≈ 1.80 cu ft (≈ 0.067 cu yd) → 6×40 lb, 4×60 lb, or 3×80 lb bags.
